Hi

We have used following technique while qualifying Super Duplex

 By Tig process

i)                    Used Pulsed tig

ii)                   Used 2% Nitrogen mixed argon

iii)                 Input as mentioned below

iv)                 Used Sandvik make Tig wire

Hi,

If you do not maintain the heat input between 1.25 - 1.5 KJ/mm for super duplex stainless steel welding, G48 Testing will fail.

Thanks & Regards

Dear Ganesh

The failures in the pitting corrosion test could be due to numerous factors. From  your query it is not at all clear, how the coupon was welded,e.g base metal, filler, welding process, technique and  what were the testing conditions&  results.

Why don't you post the results or summary in the forum, then the correct analysis would be be possible, otherwise it would be like a chain game.

Thanks.

Dear Friends,

G48 Testing for Method C At 45 degree Celsius for 24 Hours  is requirement for super-duplex PQR (Weld Metal)

we have failed twice in running this testing, can some one suggest a possible solution for it.

Thanks,
