Dear Martin,

                                If you have ASME assigned you can use ASME VIII Appendix R

                                If you have AWS D1.1 listed material you can use AWS D1.1 table 4.9 or  Annex I guideline on alternative method for determining preheat

 

Or you can use the following formula for fast calculations.
