Re: [MW:9251] 9227] P11 SR holding time

Hi Vasu,

As suggested by Bazrafshan, All STD specify only minimum Holding Time according to thickness of the parts, but the real Holding time also depends upon Furnace Loading, which is calculated according to manufacturer's experience to achieve mechanical properties, therefore some occasions, you would find that Holding Time is stated as 1 min/mm of max. thickness + 1 hour max.

Hope this would be useful,

Dear Vasu:

As far as I know in All STD Holdingtime has been specified as minimum and you can increase holding time ,I thinkholding time will have negative effectjust on Toughness properties, you know holding time also is supplementary essentialin ASME IX.
