Re: [MW:17421] Ultrasonic testing of fillet weld joint.

Dear Friend,
In general there is no limitation for ultrasonically testing of fillet welds by normal and angle transducers (if you can position the probe on desired surfaces and those are accessible), but the issue is which kind of defect you are looking for and where you are expect them?
For example, if you are looking for incomplete fusion in the side wall of the joint, so there is no problem but if you are looking for root pass defect, it is more complicated (I will not say impossible) and need more experience.

Regards

Dear members,

Is it possible to carry out ultrasonic test on the fillet weld of nozzle RF pad to shell and fillet weld joint (without bevel) of built up beam.

Thanks in advance.
Manoj.
