Hello Girish,

The correct definition is "Sour Service", a multi phase operating environment containing wet Hydrogen Sulphide or other gases.

Sour Service which is defined by MR-0175 for upstream (oil and gas production) environment as below:-
Sour service environments are defined by NACE International specification MR0175 as "fluids containing water and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) that is at a total pressure of 0.4MPa (65psia) or greater, and if the partial pressure of hydrogen sulphide in the gas is greater than 0.0003MPa (0.05psia)". The acidity of the environment is below pH 3.5, and carbon dioxide, and chlorides are also normally present.

MR-0103-2010, which defines sour environment for downstream refining environments as follows:-  sour refinery process environments, i.e., environments that contain wet hydrogen sulfide (H2S).either as a gas or dissolved in an aqueous (liquid water) phase with or without the presence of hydrocarbon.

 
 You may refer the above standards for further reading and understanding of the service requirements .
 
NACE standards provide guidance on materials selection and acceptance in a specific service or environment. It does not influence or override the requirements of design code. If the design code is B-31.3 then the RT acceptance criteria shall be as per this code.
