Grain growth makes a softer and inferior structure in most cases and is avoided. It also reduces hardness but may increase ductility in a few cases,
at the cost of tensile strength reduction. You may consult heat treatment theories from internet for explanation.

Dear experts,

Kindly explain the relation between grain growth, toughness, hardness & ductility. If anybody have some texts which explains the basic changes that happens during heat treatment, please share.
